SPORTS MASSAGE
Sports massage combines a variety of techniques to help alleviate stress and tension which builds up in the body during exercise. Fatigue, stiffness and minor injuries can occur, due to overexertion and/or overuse. Sports massage can help alleviate these problems and help a sports person perform at their absolute best. However you don’t have to be an elite athlete to benefit from sports massage. Gym users, one-night-a-week footballers, yoga enthusiasts, and walkers (to name a few) would all benefit too! If you are involved in ANY physical activity, sports massage can help to:
prepare the body for peak performance
relieve fatigue
reduce swelling
reduce muscle tension
promote flexibility
prevent injuries
make you feel good!
Madeleine's clients include: triathletes, marathon runners, Iron Man competitors, rugby players, footballers, walkers and gardeners…..
DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Deep tissue massage is a style of massage that is designed to really target knots, rather than just surface muscles. The techniques used, deeply penetrate the muscles and fascia, loosening them and releasing tension. The result is often release from back, neck and shoulder pain.
Many clients feel that it is more beneficial than Therapeutic massage because it addresses deep-seated muscular pain. Often good results can be obtained with only one or two sessions, but it is most beneficial when undertaken on a regular basis in order to prevent further episodes of pain.
Who would benefit from deep tissue massage?
- Any profession which involves bending, lifting carrying and repetitive movements. For example: builders, plasterers, farmers, carpet fitters.
- Any profession which involves sitting or standing for long periods of time, or desk / computer based jobs. For example: IT, office workers, taxi/bus drivers, hairdressers etc.
- Anyone who enjoys a physical hobby: gardening, painting, walking etc
LaSTONE® THERAPY
LaStone therapy combines massage strokes with both hot and cold stones. Warm basalt stones are used to massage the body, which helps to create deep relaxation and relieve muscle tension. Then cold stones are then applied, to help reduce inflammation and soothe the area. Alternating between hot and cold temperatures flushes the body of toxins; cleanses the lymphatic system and helps to tone muscles. It also feels wonderful too! As well as a treatment in its own right, the use of hot and cold stone can be incorporated into both deep tissue and sports massage, for a truly unique treatment.
THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE
Therapeutic massage is designed for people who would like a more gentle form of massage. Based upon classic Swedish massage moves, it is deeply relaxing, eases muscle tension and helps the body eliminate toxins. A great way to de-stress!

TESTIMONIAL
Madeleine treated me for a chronic hip complaint, which had led to quite severe muscle wasting and weakness. Following her course of massage therapy I was able to walk pain-free and returned to gym sessions and light jogging. Something I had not done for a decade. It is fair to say she changed my life. Madeleine is a kind, intelligent, and highly skilled practitioner and I cannot recommend her too highly. If there is such a thing as a natural healer, then I believe she is one.
